Great Week-end!!!!
The Atom LL sailors had a busy week-end full of hockey!!
Now that the boys are into the playoffs they have really stepped up their game!! On Saturday the Atom LL sailors traveled to Zurich to play an excellent game!
In the first period they came out on fire!! Part way into the period they had three goals in a matter of just over 2 minutes. The first goal of the game came from Tanner Lewis with assists from Liam Armstrong and Chris Govier. The boys were showing excellent passing skills and the next was a goal from Braeden Duncan with help from Mitchell Bruster and Brian Love. Tanner Lewis scored his second goal of the game with help again from Liam Armstrong. These boys are a force to be reckoned with!! Part way into the second period Liam Armstong scored two goals in a row with help both times from Braeden Duncan and the second goal they had help from Tanner Lewis. It would seem that Liam had his vitamins on Saturday!! Just a few second later Chris Govier made a quick goal with help from Brian Love. Into the third period Brian Love who had 2 assists this game came ahead and scored a goal with help from Braeden Duncan making it Braeden's third assist this game!! With 5:20 left in the game Owen Sykes scored a goal with help from Tanner Lewis. Trenton Foster played in the the first half of the game with a shut out. When Tanner Merkley played in the second half of the game, he taught them that he would be to easy to pass, allowing only one goal to pass by. Leaving the final score of the game with a victory for the Atom LL Sailor of 8-1
On Sunday March 1st the Boys hosted a game against the Listowel Cyclones. Heading the game off to a good start Braeden Duncan scored the first goal of the game with help from Robert Shelhammer. Not long after that Liam Armstrong scored another goal with help from Chris Govier. Nearing the end of the second period Luc Arbour scored a goal with help from Braeden Duncan. Keeping the game alive Liam Armstrong scored his second goal of the game with an assist from Robert Shelhammer. The final goal of the game came from Noah Smith with an assist from Owen Sykes. It was an excellent team effort put forth in this game from both players an their coaches!! Tanner Merkley played in net for the first half of the game leaving Listowel with a shut out, and Trenton Foster allowed only 2 goals to pass, leaving the final score in favor of the Atom LL Sailors with a score of 5-2
