On Saturday, January 17, 2009, in the first game of the Durham tournament, Goderich was defeated by Saugeen Shores in a heart breaker, 5-4.  With Durham scoring with 4 seconds left in the third period to take the win.  Travis Sloan had an outstanding game with 2 goals and 2 assists.  Also scoring for Goderich was Matthew Bean and Jackson Million.  Assists were awarded to were Bean, Nathan Erb and Dwyer Brown with one a piece.
In the second game Goderich fell 6-2 to Thamesford.  Both Goderich goals were scored by Trent Buchanan, with the first goal assisted by Bayden Parent and the second goal unassisted. 
Buchanan was given the game MVP.

On Sunday, January 18, 2009 Goderich hosted the Kincardine Kinucks after a long day Saturday.  The team was unable mount any attack to the visitors and lost 5-1.  Travis Sloan scored the sole goal for the Sailors, assisted by Carter Thomlinson.
