OWHA Provincial Bronze Medal Winners
The Peewee girls finished their season at the Provincial tournament in Brampton this past weekend.

Friday morning saw Goderich play Georgina taking a 4 to 1 victory. Later that day, Goderich faced an aggressive Petrolia team but came out on top with a 3 to 1 win. The next game was Saturday against Schreiber, the eventual gold medal winners. They were a very strong team, but Goderich managed to hold on for a 2 - 2 tie. This gave us first place in our pool, with a quarter final game Saturday night. We faced Ennismore and again came out with a 4 - 2 win advancing to the semi-finals Sunday morning. The girls fought hard against Kanata and carried the play, bringing the game to an overtime period. Goderich  was unable to get one by the goaltender lossing 3-2 in overtime. This advanced us to the Bronze medal game against Manitoulin. Manitoulin scored the first goal in the game early in the first period, but Goderich shut them down and ended the game with a 5 -1 Bronze medal win.

The Peewee girls are a fine example of what minor hockey organizations are to represent...that is to promote fun, teamwork and improvement. The Peewee girls consisted of Atom aged players, first year players and our veterans and they certainly worked as a team and improved their hockey skills over the season. They represented Goderich very well! Wear your medals proudly girls!!
