The mission of Goderich Minor Hockey is to provide opportunities for the youth of Goderich and surrounding area to play the great sport of hockey. We are a program focused on recreation, however, most teams also compete in an competitive environment where the life lessons of winning and losing can be experienced.
Goderich Minor Hockey is a proud member in good standing of the Western Ontario Athletic Association (WOAA) and the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA). The OMHA is the biggest minor hockey association in the world, and provides an opportunity for its 2,000 representative teams to compete for roughly 75 very prestigous OMHA Champion titles in various age groups and team categories.
Goderich Minor Hockey is currently classified as a "CC" category centre in the OMHA so the Atom, PeeWee, Bantam, and Midget rep teams have the opportunity to compete for that title. When Goderich has two rep teams, the second team is considered an Alternate Entry (AE) and is classified within the OMHA as an "AE4/5" when it comes to their championships. In the past, Goderich Minor Hockey has also been classified as either BB or B for their rep teams, and AE3 for their alternate entry teams.
This page will recognize the Goderich Minor Hockey teams who have achieved the highest level of success possible in the OMHA by competing for an OMHA Championship. It will also hopefully provide inspiration to future players and teams to know that it is possible for a team from Goderich to win an OMHA Championship.
