SAILORS ARE CHAMPIONS
Great Show Of Heart and Team Effort
The Sailors pulled out a 8-7 OT win Last night in Listowel. Winning the Twolan Final and OMHA Dodge Cup in one of the most exciting games this year.The Sailors jumped out to a quick 1 goal lead 8 seconds into the first period on a great one time shot from Kaden Hoggarth with the assist going to Kyle Stanbury but Listowel answered back with 4 goals of their own before Kyle Stanbury scored cutting the lead to 4-2 after one period of play. The Sailors came out in the second ready. David Fincher scored cutting the lead to 1 with assists going to Mark Morris and Ethan Hewitt.Kyle Stanbury tied the game 4 minutes later.Listowel answered back re taking the lead. But Kyle Stanbury would score 2 times before the end of the second period giving the Sailors their first lead of the game 6-5 with Kaden Hoggarth, Carter Thomlinson, David Fincher and Kyle Dunn picking up assists on Kyle's goals.Listowel tied the game early in the third. David Fincher put us in the lead again on a goal assisted by Kyle Stanbury and Carter Thomlinson but the lead was short lived Listowel scored a minute later making it 7-7 with 10 minutes to play. It was back in forth but no one could score. So off to Sudden Death OT. Where the Sailor took over and had the puck in Listwels end for most of time till Kyle Stanbury came off the bench picked up the puck in centre ice and went in and scored the game winning goal at the 5:40 mark of OT.
The Team showed that no matter what the score is they wouldn't quit hussling never giving up.
It was a great team effort the Coaching Staff is very Proud of you Team. OH yeah my head is cold after the great hair cut you guys gave me.
